I don’t think I have quite enough readers for this to work well yet, but I’m going to give it a try anyway. I’m starting this new recurring blog post (like awesome people) called “SHARE YO MUSIC.” Each volume, I’ll post a song that I find particular good for you to listen to and download, then in the comments you all can post a good song that you’re listening to right now. Any song, by any artist, in any genre works!
The first song I want to do is… RIDIN’ SOLO by JASON DERULO To listen:
I actually first heard this song the other night when somebody posted it on somebody else’s Facebook wall at like 2 in the morning. Lurk that I am, I listened to it, and have listened to it about 15 times since then. I really like Jason Derulo.
If you disapprove of this song and/or Jason Derulo, post something better! Feel free to post using a fake name if you don’t want the world to know about your Miley Cyrus obsession.
Where does Facebook find the time to change everything, all the time, when half the features on the site don’t even work like they should!?
However, now that I’ve said that, this change is actually kind of nice. It’s so much more organized. Friend requests, messages, and notifications are all in one place up there by the Facebook logo. But what I don’t understand is: why am I the only one who has this?
I made deandagati.com a fan page on Facebook. While that’s obviously insanely awesome (slash pathetic) I just wanted to say what’s up to anyone who has never been here before.
Here’s what you can find on this website…
The part that you’re reading right now is a pretty standard blog. All of my recent posts are about Cooper City related things since that’s where I’ve been chillin this Winter Break, but normally you’ll find posts here about New York and NYU. (Click some of the tags like “nyc” on the right hand column to see what I mean.)
I also try to include at least one picture with every post, so if you don’t like reading, feel free to just scroll down and look at the pretty pics. (And click that Facebook-esqe “I like this” button!)
If you want to see videos, click on the links right under that huge ass logo (shut up maxie/alex/taylor) with my name on it at the top of the page. Click on CTV to watch old segments and episodes from my days at CCHS, click on NYU to see what I’ve been working on in New York, or click on ORIGINALS to watch other stuff like the Trip to Florida videos that aren’t for school.
In my first post about Chris Byrd, I said that I didn’t really know him, but over the past few days with memories and dedications respectfully flooding my Facebook news feed, I’ve discovered that I actually had more interactions with him than I had originally thought. So I’m writing this post today, the day of Chris Byrd’s memorial service, in honor of him and his family.
Last night, Noa reminded me that Chris was actually in the last CTV segment I ever made. A segment from the 2008 Senior Finale about CTV The Musical 2 (watch it here), I interviewed him asking for his thoughts about the musical. Only a short clip from the interview was actually used, but I remember how enthusiastic and excited he was about the show. Here’s a screenshot:
My other memory of Chris is actually really strange. Sometime last year, Chris drew a graffiti picture on my Facebook wall. It’s clearly some kind of inside joke, but Chris and I don’t have any inside jokes. Chelsea and I have concluded that it was meant for somebody else, so if anybody has any idea what this means, I’d love to know. I never asked.
It’s been a rough week for everyone, especially for those who were close with him.
If anyone came across this page from Google or whatever and are looking for more information, I posted it here. RIP Chris. Don’t waste the cookie.
Although, I admit, I’m on Facebook way more than I should be, I’m happy to say that I’m not one of those people that uploads thousands upon thousands of pictures every day. I’m not one of those people that takes a digital camera with me everywhere I go. I’m not one of those people that has to create 4 different albums to post pictures from my most recent trip to Ikea because I have far more pictures than the 60 Facebook lets you put in one album. Well, to those people, upload away, because Facebook changed the limit to 200.
“What’s good” has a double meaning in this post.
First of all, it’s ghetto slang (which from that last video, we all know is appropriate for me) for “how are you?” but it also appropriate because I’m about to tell you “what’s good” in my life right now. (Don’t worry I have no idea what I’m talking about either.)
WHAT’S GOOD:
My schedule was changed around a little bit so now I’m coming home three days earlier on May 8th (still until May 16th). Yayyy three more days of high school parties that get broken up by 11pm (from what I hear hahah).
WHAT’S BAD:
I have all these NYU meals left to use by the end of this month… so I’m trying new things… like iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts. Idk why, but I have this idea of the way coffee should taste (based on the way it smells) in my head and it’s so delicious that I keep forgetting… I hate coffee. Proof that Pichardo is not actually my father.
WHAT’S…. MEDIUM:
I’ve noticed that my posts on deandagati.com are a strong reflection of my Facebook status updates. Idk what to make of that… I guess that there isn’t actually a need for this website at all lol.
