HOTTTTTTTTTTT

April 7th, 2010

No, I’m not talking about Sloan from Entourage like you were obviously assuming.

I’m talking about the WEATHER.

Today, the high in Miami, FL was 81 degrees. In New York City? 92!! — the highest temperature that it’s ever been in NYC on April 7th.

Average temps for this time of year are in the 40’s and 50’s. Most people around here would rather it be really hot than cold, but I’ve got all summer to melt under the Florida sun, so let’s see those 50’s!

Cows roaming the streets of Cooper City and my video footage on 7 News!

March 17th, 2010

That is a cow. Right before he trampled me and broke my camera.

Okay, no. (It looks like he’s going to though doesn’t it?)

I took that picture this morning in my neighbor’s front yard, when these four random cows came strolling down the street. I’m still not sure how they got out or where they came from, but when I filmed them and sent the video to channel 7, they aired it! (Must have been a slow news day…)

Here’s the vid. Weird stuff…

The epitome of Cooper City.

I’ve got this script that’s due tomorrow in Dramatic & Visual Writing that I’ve had my entire trip home to work on, 8 full days, and other than a quick brainstorming sesh with Maxie last night, I haven’t done any of it. While it may not be the best case scenario in terms of school, life, and my future, it can only mean one thing: this was an amazing trip home.

Often when I come home, I give into laziness and sleep for like 23 hours a day and lie around my house for the other 1. While that’s great and all, I managed to avoid it this time. (That’s what Winter Break’s for, right?!) I saw so many people, even made some new friends, and really lived it up SoFla style (except for not at all since I didn’t even go to the beach). Aventura Mall in Miami, bonfires at Monica’s house, reunion visits to CCHS, hiding from Brody’s step dad, and 87 trips to Starbucks made these last 8 days pretty great.

In just a couple of hours I’m heading to the airport to fly back up to NYC where it will be a brisk 35 degrees when I land (I didn’t bring a jacket with me…) and the work can start piling up again. Luckily, there are only 3 weeks until the semester is over and I’ll be home for Christmas!

iiiiiiiight, I’ve gotta go pack.

FLORIDA IS HOT!

November 24th, 2009

photo 2-1

It’s amazing to be home. It really is. The temperature may be a little crazy (87 in November? Seriously?), but it’s been great catching up with everyone that I haven’t seen in so long (3 months!). As much as people love to hate it, Cooper City has some of the best people in the world.

And you know what? I’ve been driving! Serious driving! Went to a few SoFla Starbucks locations, got lost a couple of times, hit up the Turnpike and i95, went down to Miami today! First song I heard when I got in the car, though: “Empire State of Mind” by Jay-Z. I’ve heard it about 83 times since then, too. Didn’t realize that song was as big here as it is in New York.

I’ll be here until Monday and would like to see every person that I’ve ever met.
Lets do it.

Shake Shack is coming to the MIA!

November 13th, 2009

shakeshack

One of the best parts about my new neighborhood here in NYC (Gramercy, in case you were wondering) is the extremely close proximity to Shake Shake — without a doubt the best place for burgers and shakes in the world. (Don’t even compare it to Five Guys, because it’s no contest.) Still don’t believe me? Here’s a picture of the line on a Saturday afternoon that I took a few weeks ago:

Told you.

Anyway, there are only 4 Shake Shack locations right now: their main one in Madison Square Park near my dorm, and three others in New York City. WELLL! The fifth location is going to be in MIAMI! Lincoln Road on South Beach to be exact… and I can’t wait. Spring/Summer 2010. Wooop.

Remember going to Marlins games? In like… 3rd grade? Back when people actually went to Marlins games? It’s really sad that nobody cares about the Marlins anymore — me included. I mean, I follow them a little bit, but now I’m a total Yankee fan. HOWEVER, my dad got tickets from his office to sit 8 rows behind the plate, and we actually went to the game last night. Did anybody see it? It was a great game. The pitcher hit a 3-run homer, the Atlanta coach got thrown out of the game, and we won! 6-3! Look at the stadium though. Hardly anybody there. Hopefully more people will go when the new stadium is built. Check out video from my iPhone of the coach getting thrown out ;)

GO MARLINS (and Yankees)!

SOLD! …for real this time!

Unlike last time, the winning bidder of my iPhone’s second auction on eBay actually PAID ME. Wanna know why? Because it wasn’t some hoe from California that I needed to send Alyssa to take care of for me. This time it was some lady in Miami! So close to here! Her zip code is only one digit different than mine, haha. She reminds me a lot of Pichardo actually because in my couple of e-mail exchanges with her, she didn’t make any sense and clearly does not speak English very well… but she paid me! And that’s all that matters. I thought about just dropping off the phone at her house and saving on the shipping cost… but how do I know she’s not like a murderer or something?! I mean I can’t exactly protect myself… ;)

PS. I wonder if she likes “I’m In Miami, Bitch”???

A pre-screening is DEFINITELY the way to see a movie. It’s free, they give out free stuff, and there’s no previews! Yesterday I went to see “I Love You, Man” in Miami with David. It turned out to be a really great movie… very funny… and you should definitely go see it when it comes out on March 20th.

Also, here’s the website where I got the free tickets from: filmmetro.com
They have a lot of movies in the Miami area right now… not so much in New York though… which is weird (and kind of annoying).
