I’ve previously discussed my disapproval of Leno stealing The Tonight Show back from Conan, so I havent been watching it anymore, but recently The Tonight Show partnered with NYU for Jay Leno’s Short Film contest. It basically involved making a 90 second or less short film in an extremely short period of time with some crappy little Flip camera. No professional equipment.
I didn’t actually know about this contest and therefore didn’t enter, but other kids did (apparently) and the top 3 films were not only shown on The Tonight Show last Wednesday (been meaning to post this for like a week…), but their creators were flown to LA so that they could be on the show.
Jay Leno was great at 11:30, Conan O’Brien was great at 12:30, and Jimmy Fallon was great never having a show whatsoever… but then they went and screwed that up.
I’ve always been a Jay Leno fan, but 11:30 is Conan’s time slot now, and Leno has no right to take it back. I’m with CoCo.
I have a half hour to kill… so instead of doing something productive I’ll just write a new blog post ;)
Many of you have probably been to NBC Studios in Rockefeller Center, NYC… it’s a pretty big tourist attraction. If you have been there, you know how insanely cool that place is (see my pictures). I really want to do an internship at NBC next summer, and while I was waiting in line, these two girls in their early 20’s started talking to us (probably because I’m so attractive). Turns out, one is an intern there at NBC and the other is an intern at ABC (both from U of Kentucky). NBC girl was telling me about how cool the internship was and how she works with censorship–so she’s one of the people cutting out the inappropriate jokes from Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and her boss is the person who sits at the bleep button waiting for something bad to happen on Saturday Night Live. It was awesome talking to her, and it made me want to do the internship next year even more.
…probably should have gotten her name.
Also, in about 48 hours from right now May 6th 7:30PM (which in Florida is also May 6th 7:30PM ALYSSA) I will be landing at Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport for a week long stay in the Coop =D
So, I just got back from seeing a taping of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon! But no, I won’t just be seen sitting out in the audience… Me and a couple of my friends were invited to go ON THE STAGE behind Adele while she performed! So you should definitely be able to see me =) The other guests were Jennifer Aniston (who quite honestly was funnier than Jimmy Fallon, haha) and Donald Faison (the black guy from scrubs).
Here’s what you can expect on the show tonight!
–Jimmy shares his obsession with calendars.
–Some old lady who has probably never seen a computer in her life wins a MacBook Pro.
–Jimmy & Jennifer Aniston play grapefruit bowling (lol)
–Jennifer talks about her days going to the Palladium club on 14th Street when she was a kid which is now an NYU dorm right next to mind!
–Adele performs…. WITH ME BEHIND HER!!

I think it’s safe to say that just about everyone has heard of Late Night with Conan O’Brien… but ever since he left, and Jimmy Fallon took over, tickets are surprisingly easy to get (not to mention, free)! So I’m going to a taping on May 4th! This is slightly cooler than Letterman IMO since they shoot it at 30 Rock (same studio as SNL, but, ironically not the same studio as the show 30 Rock – that’s shot in Queens).
So I’ve already got tickets for John Stewart in June, but I should probably line up something for April. Live with Regis & Kelly? The Martha Stewart Show? Nevermind. Nothing in April.
